How to access a carer service
Glasgow City Carers Partnership's Carers Information Line provides information about how people who have a caring role can be supported.
All unpaid carers looking after someone resident in Glasgow are eligible for carer support with a universal offer of information and advice for all as a minimum.
If you want to talk to someone about your rights and supports available, please call 0141 353 6504 (office hours) or visit Carers Information Line (this service is managed by Glasgow Association for Mental Health - GAMH). The information line is open to unpaid carers, family, friends and professionals.
Consent for data sharing is no longer required and if you are providing anyone else's details, where appropriate, please make sure that you have told them that you have given their information to Glasgow City Council.
Find out about carer services
There are a number of ways to find out about carer services:
- phone the Carers Information Line on 0141 353 6504
- email the Carer Information Line: info@glasgowcarersinformation.org.uk
- complete an online carers self-referral form and click on the Self-Referral Form icon - for an accurate search, enter the postcode of the person you are looking after on Glasgow City Council Locality Postcode Checker
It's important to check that the postcode is the postcode of the person you are caring for in the Glasgow City Council local authority boundary and not your own. This ensures the self-referral is sent to the appropriate carers team. If the person you care for lives outwith Glasgow City Council boundary, please contact their local authority directly for advice about carer services. If you are unsure, contact the Carer Information Line on 0141 353 6504.
If in an emergency and you need a service outwith office hours, then you can contact Glasgow and Partners Emergency Social Work Services on 0300 343 1505.
