Service summary
You can access this service by: Self-referral, family, friends, social work, carers, schools, health visitors, other voluntary sector and statutory agencies, as well as internally via other staff members.
Family Support Service provides “All through life” support to individuals, families, carers and professionals in relation to information and support regarding people with Down’s syndrome.
Areas of support include (not limited to): Screening and New Parent support, child development and positive behaviour management, nursery, primary and secondary school inclusion and support strategies, school transitions and leaving school, transitions into adult services, health, welfare & benefits, guardianship & POA, legal information and funding options

Provide information and support to parents for children of all ages and stages to ensure good practice applied and learning opportunities are maximised, behaviour management strategies, confidence for dealing with transitions and improved communication and parent/child relationships.
