Wallacewell Day Care Centre
You will usually require an assessment in order to access the day care service. This is normally arranged through your local area service team. For information on how to contact your local social work office.
You can also be referred to Wallacewell Day Care Centre through your GP or another health or social care professional such as social worker, physiotherapist, occupational therapist etc.
Wallacewell Day Care Centre provides support to vulnerable older people who live in the community. The dementia friendly day care centre provides a high quality environment built around the individual needs of the people who use it.
The building itself is all on one level and was created to ensure that older people feel safe and that they enjoy a sense of community.
The centre can accommodate up to 30 people each day. Within the centre we have a number of areas where people can relax and socialise including:
- Dining room
- Activity rooms including space for dementia-friendly activities
- Treatment room
- Landscaped secure garden areas with raised beds for gardening
- Hairdressing salon
- Quiet rooms
The following services are available
- Health professional surgeries e.g. District nurses, Optician, Podiatrist
- Gentle exercise classes
- Arts & Crafts
- Current affairs
- Social events such as entertainment afternoons
Registered with Care inspectorate to provide the following services:
Wallacewell Day Care Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am until 4.30pm.
Wallacewell Day Care Centre is all set on the ground floor and is fully accessible.
