CrossReach offers a range of services to children and young people with disabilities, including those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and communication difficulties. We offer care and support to young people that will encourage them to reach their maximum potential and work towards agreed outcomes.
Provides residential short breaks
Provides residential long term care
Provides community based services
We aim to ensure that young people have a positive and rewarding time with us - whatever services they use. All the services are based in Springburn, only 10 minutes travelling time from Glasgow city centre.
We work with families, providing a flexible approach that will meet the agreed outcomes for the young people. This can be achieved by using the residential services, the day services or a combination of both services. We work with families, giving consideration to the finance available to provide the support.
The Mallard provides a short break service. The coordinator of the service will spend time with the young people and their families considering a Personal Plan that will best meet their needs and support their agreed outcomes. As well as their own bedroom, shared lounge and dining room, the children have access to The Mallards sensory room, spa, computer room and garden including a sensory garden and summer house. The Mallard has use of a car and mini bus, both of which are wheelchair accessible.
The Garratt provides a long term care and support service. A member of the senior staff team will spend time with the young people and their families considering a personal plan that will best meet their needs and support their agreed outcomes. As well as their own spacious bedroom with ensuite bath/shower room, the Garratt has a large lounge/dinning area and family room. It has its own garden area with access to the facilities within the Mallard next door including a sensory room, spa, computer room and garden including sensory garden and summer house. The Garratt has use of a car and mini bus which are both wheelchair accessible.
GO2 provides 1-1 support within the community. It is based in a separate area of the Mallard with its own access. It has a kitchen, lunge/dinning area and computer room. The young people can meet here before going out and about. The aim of GO2 is to support young people to access facilities in the community including swimming, cinema, shops and clubs. The young people also have use of The Mallards sensory room, spa and garden area, including the sensory garden and summer house. The coordinator of the services will spend time with the young people and their families considering a personal plan that will best meet the needs and support agreed outcomes.
Every young person using these services has a Personal Plan and a named Key worker who works together with those important to the young person to ensure that the young person receives the highest standard of care and support. Regular reviews are held, and everyone works together to support the young person to meet his or her agreed outcomes. The Personal Plan reflects the GIRFEC principles and the wellbeing wheel - Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included.
Who Cares? Scotland provides an independent advocacy service. Parents are up to date by newsletter and events such as BBQs and parties to ensure that the young people and their families are fully involved in the project. Staff are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council, are PVG checked and take part in a programme of continual personal and professional development.
