We are based in Templeton business centre near Glasgow Green. Our service is registered with the Care Inspectorate for adults with learning disabilities. We are open 7 days a week and only closed two days per year, Christmas day and New Years day.
Client groups
We also offer community support where we can meet you at home and support you with social and leisure activities. We take an empowering approach to supporting people to support you to achieve your outcomes.
We can also offer community support to adults with Mental health issues with a variety of tasks including budgeting, cooking and shopping.
We aim to ensure everyone using our service is valued and included in every way. To this end, we have supported people and worker involvement in every part of the service.
Service details
At the moment we run community groups out and about over the course of the week. Many of these groups have developed through ideas and suggestions given to us by people coming to the service.
We use pictorial weekly planners for the building and community groups.
Its also important to have the opportunity for social interaction and to develop friendships. We have a variety of social nights and events where everyone is welcome to attend. This supports everyone to have the opportunity to get involved in the community if they wish.
Throughout the week, the building based service offers a mixed programme including Boccia, Yoga, Music, Computing, Flower arranging, Arts and Crafts, and healthy cooking/Living. We offer Living life to the full course approved by the NHS as well as Mindfullness and relaxation sessions.
We have regular community groups such as Ten Pin Bowling, Cinema, Social, Glasgow, Heritage, Gym, Walking, Music and Drama, Snooker and Gardening groups on offer. Some of the groups have become so popular we have to hold them over several days!
Everyone is encouraged to get involved in any area which is of interest to them. We now have one person who is a lay assessor with the Care Inspectorate and another who is involved with the Involving People Group. Supported people and workers are also involved in giving talks at colleges and working with Students who are on placement within the service.
Some people travel to the day opportunities themselves while others might need support with travel arrangements. We can help you to organise which suits you best. Some people share transport through a taxi firm of choice. When our community groups are out and about they usually use public transport. On other occasions some people choose to travel by other arrangements. This can be organised on request.
We have a café bar where people can volunteer to gain experience towards employability. We have a kitchen which can offer you the opportunity to learn or improve skills.
