Service details

We provide opportunities for  people to come together to participate in shared interest groups or for one to one or shared support depending on assessed needs and personal preference.  Support can be provided through the day, in the evening or at weekends.  We currently have a base in the East of the city but support people city wide to use a variety of accessible resources.  Some of the activities that people currently enjoy are Bowling, swimming, drama, boccia, arts and crafts, ‘hands on’ gardening experience and caring for the environment .  We also support people to develop independent living skills through groups like, “Cooking without gas,” using produce grown by our gardening group.

The Mungo Foundation also offers alternatives to Residential Respite in the form of supported Short Breaks.  With a number of years of experience our Project Manager supports individuals, their families and carers to plan Short Breaks depending on assessed need, personal preference and of course budget.  Support can be offered as part of a group and on a one to one basis.    Destinations we have previously supported people to include Flamingoland, bus trips to Blackpool, the Scottish Highlands and Dunoon, Aberdeenshire and Florida.  Self-drive breaks can be arranged as well as making use of bus tours and public transport.  If your preference is to have some guaranteed sunshine then support to plan, book  and go on holidays abroad can also be arranged.
