Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service are joint Social Work Services and Health Addiction Teams. This will mean that if you need help with an alcohol or drug problem, you can come to the Community Addiction Team and we will arrange for you to see the worker best placed to help you, eg an Addiction Worker or an Addiction Nurse, and we may speak to you about involving doctors, psychology and occupational therapists as part of your care. You can access the service by phoning the office, arriving at the office or asking another worker to make a referral on your behalf (you may have another worker from another service, for example a Social Worker or Health Visitor). To access this service you will need to be assessed by your local doctor.Our main role is to provide a package of neurobehavioural rehabilitation for individuals who have recently developed Alcohol-Related Brain Damage (ARBD). We can work with individuals for a suggested maximum of two years – research tells us that this is the best period in which to maximise recovery. Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service provides a range of treatment and care options for individuals who are affected by their own or someone else's alcohol and/or drug use. These services include: Alcohol, support and treatment including detoxification and protective medications;Drug, support and treatment including opiate substitute therapy;Support for a range of social issues;Support for family members affected by alcohol and/or drugs;Harm reduction advice and interventions;Outreach provision;Needle replacement;Blood born virus testing and treatment;Provision of Naloxone;Access to residential rehabilitation services;Access to CIRCLE (Recovery Hub);Signposting to a range of support services and recovery communities. The Service offers open access to all and can receive referrals from a wide range of services but also welcome self-referrals.
