Health and Wellbeing

Good health is central to ensuring that children have a high quality of life. In order for a child to maintain their health and wellbeing, it is important that that their needs are met and that they have access to support services if required.

Glasgow City Council has health teams based in hospitals across the city which provide support to children and families that are affected by illness and disability. These teams offer information, support, advice and counselling to children and families whose lives are affected by illness, including those whose lives are affected by mental health issues.

Glasgow City Council also offers services to people who are affected by illness or disability as well as offering support to pregnant women and their families. These services provide support to people who are affected by stress or who are experiencing difficulties during a period of hospitalisation.
