About us
The Glasgow City Suicide Prevention Partnership (GCSPP), formerly known as the Glasgow City Choose Life Strategy Group, is coordinated by Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). This multi-agency partnership includes representation from a wide range of partners, including Police Scotland, Education Services, housing and the third sector and many others. The group meets regularly and has a series of multi-agency subgroups which have evolved in response to national, NHS and Glasgow City priorities for suicide prevention.
In July 2020, following the submission of four years’ worth of evidence, under ten key themes, Glasgow City was awarded the Living Works Suicide Safer Community Designation. Glasgow is the first local authority in Scotland and the second in the UK to achieve this award.
In December 2021, the GCSPP signed off its COVID-19 Action Plan. In 2022, the group plans to conduct engagement on a long term multi-agency action plan.
